Privacy Policy

Best of MPLS is an independent guide to Minneapolis and St. Paul, run from Minneapolis. This page describes what data the site handles, in plain language.

What we collect

Newsletter email addresses. If you sign up for the Monday newsletter, your email address is stored with Kit (kit.com), the service that sends it. We use it to send the newsletter and for nothing else. Every issue includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you.

Reader signals. Features like votes, saves, and "been here" marks send anonymous counts to our server. They are not tied to your name or email. Your personal lists (saved places, passport marks) live in your own browser's storage and never leave your device.

Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read. It sets cookies and collects standard usage data (pages visited, approximate location, device type). See Google's privacy policy for how Google handles it.

Tips and submissions. If you send us a tip or an event through a form, we keep what you wrote so we can act on it.

What we don't do

We don't sell or share your personal information. We don't run third-party ad trackers. We don't collect anything beyond what's listed above.

Outbound links

The site links to venues, restaurants, and ticket sellers. Some outbound links may be affiliate links, which means we can earn a small commission if you buy tickets after clicking, at no extra cost to you. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
